Great Racing on Day 2
Mon, Jan 3 2011Despite grey sky’s sailors were treated with some "tactical southerly" winds.This provided some close racing with the leaders in the various classes moving around.(see results)All in all, it was a great day on Jervis Bay. Thu, Dec 30 2010During yesterdays practice session sailors were greeted with a very light 20-25 knot seabreeze.The Royal Vinnie YC apologies for the light winds.Race Director John Hooper was heard saying; "yes, I'm disappointed that the seabreeze did not kick in as anyone can sail in 25 knots......"

The First Competitors Arrive!
Sat, Dec 25 2010Daniel and Nicolaj Christensen from Denmark have arrived in Vincentia and are the first competitors here training for the 2011 Hobie Nationals. The boys are out on the water today enjoying a beautiful nor-east seabreeze.
Youth qualifying
Tue, Dec 7 2010The 2011 OAMPS Insurance Brokers Australian Youth Championship will be held from the 6-10 January 2011 at the Georges River 16ft Sailing Club, and provides the stepping stone for qualification to the ISAF World Youth Championships to be held in Zadar Croatia in July next year. This year we will be using the Hobie Class nationals and the Youth Championship as selection events, and with over 130 entries

Thu, Oct 28 2010South Australian Hobie icon, Bob Schahinger is the first Hobie Wildcat to enter an Australian Hobie Class Championships. The first shipment of the much anticipated Wildcat have only just landed at Hobie Aus and the boats are already on the water. Steve Fields from Hobiecat said there will be a Wildcat class at this year's nationals - Who will be the lucky ones in the fast lane to join Bob?

Fri, Oct 8 2010Victorian Hobie 17 Sailor Ron McDonald has already got a couple of firsts in the 2011 Hobie Nationals with out a race even sailed! Ron was not only the first Hobie 17 to enter, but was also the first boat to enter the Vincentia Hobie Nationals. There had been some concern that the 17s might not get a class, so Ron got on the front foot and put the challenge out to the 17 fleet. Ron reckons he won't
