I would formally like to invite you to participate in the Australian Hobie Cat Championships this coming summer in Adelaide. As already posted on Facebook and on the Hobie Nationals Website, the regatta is scheduled as a two series event either side of New Year. Series One 28th - 31st December and Series Two 2nd – 5th January. This being the preferred series format that will hopefully support the development of Hobie Cat sailing in Australia, and enabling the Hobie Cat championships to be more accessible to all.

NorthHaven Beach is situated in the Port Adelaide area with a beautiful sandy beach and clear blue ocean water. This is a perfect location for Hobie sailing, and only 30 minutes from the centre of Adelaide.

The event will be hosted by the North Haven Surf Life Saving Club, utilising their club-rooms and facilities, with ample parking, lawn areas, beach access and space. The club itself has all the amenities that we would expect from any yacht club.

The Royal South Australian Yacht Squadron, located nearby is the Organising Authority and will support the event.

Thank you to Bob & Deirdre Schahinger and the whole South Australian Hobie Committee for their efforts in leading this and pulling this all together.

Entries will be available online next month.

It’s now up to us to make it great. Come, enjoy, sail, explore.

Best wishes

Phil Epps
ANHCA President
